CD4 and CD45RA are co-expressed on naïve CD4+T cells. Naïve T cells differentiate in the bone marrow and have successfully undergone positive and negative selection but have not been exposed to antigen yet. CD4+/CD45RA+ naïve T cells are isolated from cord blood mononuclear cells using negative immunomagnetic selection. All cord blood is collected in citric phosphate with dextrose buffer (CPD).
