Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) are an excellent source of immune cells for research purposes. PBMCs are collected from apheresis material, providing a source of cells that have been minimally processed for isolation. PBMCs generally consist of 60% lymphocytes and 30% monocytes. Cell types form this product include: T cells, B cells, NK cells and monocytes. Frozen PBMCs can be a great resource for researchers looking to study multiple cell types from one donor or looking for an inexpensive starting material for immune cell studies.
